Healthcare
Union County and its surrounding communities are fortunate to have excellent healthcare close to home and business which greatly improves the quality of life of a vital metropolitan area.
Memorial Hospital of Union County is a 107-bed acute and primary health care facility servicing the third fastest growing community in Central Ohio. A not-for-profit organization, Memorial provides a wide range of diagnostic, treatment and comprehensive care services to Union and surrounding counties.
Nearly 54 years ago the hospital’s founders made a commitment to keep personalized, quality health care close to home. Today, that commitment is honored by more than 600 employees, a physician staff of over 170 and more than 400 active adult and junior volunteers. The hospital offers a full range of services including acute care services, obstetrics, surgery, emergency, imaging, home health, laboratory, cardiopulmonary, sleep lab, and an outpatient clinic for specialty services such as neurology, gastroenterology, oncology, plastic surgery and vascular services.
The new Miracle Life Center has put a new face on the hospital by adding much needed space to the busy labor and delivery unit. It is located within the larger Women’s Health Center that boasts a state-of-the-art mammography suite complete with the R2 ImageChecker®, an added diagnostic tool. Also located there is the latest bone densitometry technology, and a comfortable conference room for community meetings, classes and support groups.
Memorial’s dedication to the entire community is further demonstrated in management of both its behavioral health unit and The Gables at Green Pastures, a long-term care and rehabilitation facility. The Gables is located in a friendly neighborhood setting where its staff attends to their family of resident who have needs for skilled, dementia and intermediate care.
Somewhere between the need for an Emergency Room and a regular doctor visit is the need for urgent care. That’s why Urgent Care by Memorial Hospital of Union County opened in September of 2005. Patients are seen quickly by a physician with lab tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures provided on-site. Treatment for minor injuries, aches and pains, colds, sore throats, upset stomach and a host of other problems is fast and convenient.
